Safety and Liability Information

Accident Insurance

The ASI intramural sports program does not provide intramural sports participants with health insurance. ASI strongly recommends personal health insurance for all intramural sports participants. Each individual participating in intramural sports activities assumes the responsibility for their own health insurance needs. In the event of an injury, Associated Students, Inc. and California State University, Hayward will not cover payment for treatment. Associated Students, Inc. is insured through the California State University Risk Management Authority (CSURMA).

Behavior and Sportsmanship

The concept of fair play is not only about the standards of sportsmanship; abiding by the rules, but also respecting the game and all its participants and those involved in the sports activity. It is every player's responsibility to know and understand the rules of the game. Officials and field supervisors will not tolerate verbal abuse or physical threats from players, captains, or spectators. Inappropriate conduct can result in penalties ranging from game ejection to lifetime suspension. Any team or individual involved in a fight will be disqualified from the tournament.
